How do we make sense of other people and form impressions of them? My current research relates to mindreading and person perception. For instance, I am studying how people infer the motives and intentions of others, particularly as those motives relate to trait judgments that we make about others. More broadly, I am interested in theory of mind as it relates to basic issues in person perception. One line of research with Andrew Monroe is examining how we decide if acts are intentional, as opposed to unintentional. I am also studying prejudice and stigma with John Pryor.
